Gossip Chatbots (2020)

Can Machines Gossip? In the gossip-bot series, the definition of ‘being human’ is generalised to one peculiar human aspect and reshaped into machinery processes. the translation from something as subjective as gossip to cold data exchanges challenges our collective view on what it means to be human.

This installation consists of two AI-powered chatbots that use facial recognition to have and endless back-and-forth discussion about your face. The endless exchange of senseless information creates the illusion of two gossiping machines.
