Cluster (2018)

interactive kinetic sculpture: plastic, electronics, metal

300X300X120

The human need for constant improvement has ushered in an age in which technology is learning to improve itself. In our quest to control our own development we’ve become more like the machines we create, while our technology becomes more human. Could our technology actually adopt our very need for improvement? Cluster is an autonomous robotic creature that reflects on this question. The installation uses physical data from the viewer as input to expand its neural network and convert it into physical motion.

Together the people deicde how the Cluster develops.

Cluster was nominated for 'Best Student Project' at the Dutch Film Festival 2018
